Games like telephone, pretend, Jacob's Ladder, and cat's cradle make children communicate and listen.
Team Sports encourages kids to interact -- and more importantly, cooperate -- with each other. The most important part is good sportsmanship because that promotes kindness, impulse control (don't be a sore loser!), and responsibility. Everyone wins!

Parent Days are designed for a parent to join us with their child. Although we provide nurturing, connected care, parents are important to every child. Mary Ainsworth demonstrated the importance of attachment to caretakers with her strange situation experiment: Kids who felt close and secure with their parents were more eager to explore and learn than children who were insecurely attached (crying, unresponsive, irritable). Long term, kids who are content and close with their parents are more socially adept, independent, and self-confident. Of course we want that! Field Days and End-of-Theme Days provide several monthly opportunities for parents to come in. We urge all parents to come in at least once monthly!
